How billing works
PayPal subscriptions are the planned billing integration. Today, the /checkout page routes to the maintainer's payment page with the chosen plan, and an administrator sets your plan on your account. This honest, stubbed flow exists because PrepAI follows a strict no-paid-third-party-billing-SDK policy in line with its zero-cost architecture.
There's also a one-time support/contribution link on the pricing page for people who want to back the project without a subscription.
Why a free core matters
PrepAI's whole premise is that interview preparation shouldn't be locked behind a paywall. Charging only for conveniences (bulk downloads, richer export bundles, private history) keeps the playing field level: someone with no budget gets the same drills, the same AI interviewer, and the same reviews as a paying user.
